Phounguen Restaurant, Cabramatta East
Phounguen Restaurant is a humble, small but honest Thai-Lao restaurant on the east side of Cabramatta. This is the quiet side that many visitors don't necessarily see.
The food is pretty much the same as what you'd get at other thai-lao eateries around the area, Phounguen neither shines or is shamed in comparison. What you see is what you get, and the prices are pretty honest too.
We had Lao tom yum soup - it's very different from the thai version, thai som tum and beef salad.
