Tre Viet, Vietnamese Restaurant, Newtown
At a friends recommendation, we tried Tre Viet, Newtown for lunch today. Highly recommended was the Tre Viet special vermicelli noodle and fried rolls (above). The rolls were sliced sideways and was super crunchy.
I had some goi cuon - Vietnamese fresh rolls, the mark of a good roll is that you can see the red of the prawns from the outside. The rice paper used is a little more substantial than I'm used to, but never-the-less all very respectable.
Walter had the chicken pho, which looked pretty authentic.

ReplyDeleteThere are probably better, but we were in Newtown and this wasn't bad.
ReplyDeleteThose rolls look very cool - never seen anything like that before. I agree, funny looking rice paper though!
ReplyDeleteFinding the right catering company can make any event a breeze!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I usually stick to Tranh Binh in Newtown but this food looks fantastic so it's been added onto my list of places to try.
