Rocket Restaurant, Eat Street, Chatswood Central
Rocket has been here for almost a decade and has seen many other eateries come and go, but Peter, the owner reckons business is booming with the new Eat Street. Rocket was pumping with happy dinners when noodlies Sydney food blog visited on the last stop of our progressive dinner tour.
I ordered the mixed berry souffle for the vanilla bean ice cream that came with it. And the ice cream was just what I was expecting, rich and creamy. But the souffle was a really pleasant surprise, fantastically presented in a copper handled pot, it was fluffy and light but bursting with flavour.
I was bowled over by the chocolate marquise spiced cherry compote, it just looked stunning, from the glistening cherries, luminous chocolate exterior through to the chocolate swirl. It was a bit of a jaw dropper for our table. The dessert delivered on tastes too with the cake being sweet but not over powering and well balanced with the cherry compote.
Oh, and kudos to the champagne citrus panna cotta - perfect palate cleanser before we started our dessert.
