Al-Dhiaffah Al-Iraqi Restaurant, Fairfield

It's a mouthful of a name, but the meat here, and most dishes on the menu involve a lot of meat, is very good.  We had a plate of chicken (above) and beef (below), all grilled/bbq and served with pickles, grilled tomatoes, lettuce and something like homos - all to be eaten with lovely fluffy freshly baked Iraqi bread.

Nice, but you'll need to like your meat.

  1. I have never been to an Iraqi restaurant. Nice info.

  2. What's it like compared to Franks ? I know they are different cultures but the food looks similar :)

  3. I think much more meat with Iraqi; the only relief are pickled and grilled vegetables. I still prefer Frank's because you get the contrast with meat and tabouli (love their tabouli) - can't really taste much garlic in Iraqi either; while the garlic sauce at Frank's is to die for.
