Moon Cakes, Moon Festival
Moon cakes to Autumn Moon Festival is like red packets to Lunar New Year. Each year, I get more and more astounded by the fanciness of them.
I'm used to the more traditional humble metal tins (bottom left of photo quadrant above), but now we're faced with a wonderful array of choice; fancy gold hexagonal cardboard boxes (top right), japanese flower paper cut inspirations (top right), even japanese bento boxes (bottom right).
But surely the most fancy has to be abalone moon cakes in enormous, die-cut boxes with amazing hologram writing.
Wonderful!
