Al Aseel Lebanese Restaurant, Greenacre
I've been to the Surry Hills branch, but tonight I'm eating at the original and some would argue the best Lebanese in town, located in downtown Greenacre.
It's a cold autumn evening but the place is almost full, with a good mix of clientele from all walks of life, Lebanese, Asian and in between.
Upon entering the welcome is warm and complimentary pickles and a generous amount of Lebanese bread are brought to the table pronto. The pickles look good and taste good.
My mixed plate consisted of marinated chicken, lamb and kafta well cooked but still tender and very tasty.
But it's what you get with the meat that really grabs me. The tabouli crisp and fresh and tastes and I feel like it's healthy, guilt-free food.
While you couldn't describe the baba ghanouj and hommos as 'healthy' they were creamy and a lovely consistency that was definitely not runny but not too thick either. Wonderfully balance flavours.
I could say the grill was the best I've had, but all the sides were pretty much up there.

Would you say quality is the same as in the Surry Hills branch?
